Meet Khalilah Larue, RN, CNP, founder and psychiatric nurse practitioner with LaRue Psychiatric Services LLC

Khalilah LaRue is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (Across the Lifespan). A graduate of The Ohio State University, Khalilah LaRue, PMHNP-BC, also completed her psychiatric residency training program at OSU Medical Center (OSU Harding Hospital), Southeast Mental Healthcare Center, and OhioHealth. She remains active with Ohio State as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, teaching Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students as well as resident physicians assistants. She a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners. She founded Larue Psyciatric Services to provide timely and compassionate care for clients.

Khalilah's treatment philosophy draws from diverse experience and theoretical approaches, and she is highly skilled in treating a wide variety of emotional disorders and life problems. Treatment is individualized, collaborative, and aimed at understanding underlying conflicts, clarifying life goals, and making substantive behavioral change to enable clients to live life in a more introspective, mindful way that leads to greater fulfillment.

Khalilah has been practicing for the past 15 years specializing in up-to-date scientific information about evidence-based treatment alternatives, both Western medications and scientifically supported alternative remedies. She is committed to collaborating with her clients and to providing individualized treatment options helping to empower clients to make informed decisions.

Khalilah teaches mind-body stress management and self-observation and relationship effectiveness skills. She uses insight-oriented psychotherapy and cutting-edge psychopharmacology to balance the body and mind. She has used hypnosis in her clinical practice where it is appropriate and desired by patients. She also uses a variety of clinical therapy approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, eclectic, and solution focused brief behavioral therapy to help patients on the road to recovery.
